Crouching Bull Dog and Hidden Dragon!!!

I have got my ability to think back!! Guess who should I thank?? I solemnly thank three people for this. They are Kurt Vonnegut, Bill Bryson and Marta Kauffman & David Crane. Ok that is four  I know. But yeah I have been reading a lot of Kurt Vonnegut and Bill Bryson on my way to work and  back home and watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S. I know I should be giving the discs to the guy whom I bought it for, but JC also loves them, so the guy to whom originally belongs will have to wait.

Now apart from this what have I done?? I saw Crounching Bull Dog and Hidden Dragon. That’s what I would like to call the hindi Aamir Kahn’s version of Ghajini. Seriously people, if you had any preconceptions that it was going to be one of those movies that might impact the way you think like Taare Zammen par or RDB you are WRONG!!

Aamir Khan must seriously think before choosing the a movie. Asin has been throughly wasted. I know her role in Tamil was impeccable, but in Hindi something is seriously wrong!! Sutrum Vizhi Sudare and Oru Malai Ilaveyil Nerum can’t be beaten by tu meere adaa…. Surya can get away with a flick like that, but i doubt the die hard aamir fans can take this. Beat this Aamir walks about 1km in 15 mins and beats up 22 people. Yeah i counted during the last part of the movie. And boy, if I thought NayanThara had the ability to act dumb, she has been surpassed by Jiah Khan.  And i thought you had to be intelligent(atleast a teeny weeny bit) to get into a Medical College. Which kind of a idiot on the road is going to take Jiah Khan as a doctor.Come on all you medicos, do something about this!! Do you guys run away from the scene of an accident without helping a guy whom might have actually saved your life?? And in the last parts of the movie all she does is follow the trails of 22 guys who are wirthing in pain, tripping all over them?? And I thought all mum’s told us when we were 3 to look where you walked!! I know I still get that from my mother sometimes when I trip on the road. Mrs.Khan plz call up you daughter and talk to her.

The best part in the Tamil version was the first half, where Sanjay Ramaswamy says about thala genuthkum thannambikikum oru nool alavaku than stuff and all is sooper. You cannot totally  beat that part!! Aamir wears what I will call a Banian and goes in a BMW car. Can’t he stop showing to people that he was the sole bread giver to a gym owner for 6 months??The last thing which I still couldn’t understand is why was the villian’s name changed to Ghajini?? Wasn’t the name supposed to signify the determination of Sanjay ….. to kill the guy who made him like this?? Or did A.R.Murugadas suffer from a short term amnesia himself and forget history?? Mohammed Ghajini was the reason for the name in Tamil right??

The worst thing that  happened to me when I went to watch the movie was that I had bought 85 rs tickets and realized that I had to sat in the 3rd row, one behind the 10rs tickets rows. People if you are watching a movie in screen *4* of the KG big cinemas please don’t take the 85rs tickets. Go for the 10rs ones!!

    damn, this is seriously funny…dude cgrts for getting back ur ability to think and switch on the tubelight :P……anyways, since i already knew about the wonderfully latent acting skills of jiah khan, u cud say this was as expected…..forgive the poor soul for tripping (when she actually was kicking them) on ppl already writhing in pain…….

    I watched the movie too, and did not like it as much as the Tamizh movie. Did you watch the movie in Coimbatore? I watched a lot of crappy Hindi movies in that very same theatre, paying Rs. 50 for front row seats 🙂 The one thing I liked about the Hindi version though is that the last scene was shorter than the Tamizh version. No twin villain confusions… Music was a disappointment too…

    Firstly Ghajini sucked, I accept that with much affirmation.
    Here are the flaws I saw:
    First Flaw:
    The movie wasted atleast 45 minutes of reel time,if that’s of with a commercial movie it’s definitely not okay with an artistic perception.

    Second Flaw:
    I just can’t understand how a guy who’s literally lived all his life in America and graduated from Harvard, and lastly wears Armani suits prefers entering his diary notes in Hindi !! Will someone please stand up and answer.

    Third flaw,
    Could not the screen writer find any better job suitable for his villain than being CEO of a pharmaceutical company ? Come on guys you think a guy would sell girls for minuscule pennies when his company reaps profits in Crores ??

    Fourth Flaw:
    How could Jiah dial the wrong number to Sanjay instead of Ghajini when she knew about Sanjay’s beastly character ?Is it just mere coincidence?

    Fifth Flaw:
    At the end, when Kalpana had tried calling Sanjay, could she not have switched her phone to silent mode to avoid being detected? since that would be the first thing any person would have done to avoid being detected..

    Sixth Flaw:
    Why did Sanjay’s body have to be swollen (or muscular) even before the incident occurred? After all the director’s trying to show us the change in sanjay’s character after the incident occurred.

    Seventh Flaw:
    Kalpana claims she sold her ambassador and was able to obtain one and a half lakhs required for sanjay’s imaginative mother.Come on guys, let’s be frank and accept that the value of an ambassador in today’s world.

    Eighth Flaw:
    How stupid a proposition to make than to try regaining past glory by starting off a travel service and worse even postponing a marriage proposal from a guy as good looking as sachin(or sanjay).Let’s not forget she was an AD executive whose salary would not be less than 35,000 a month.

    Ninth Flaw:
    How can the Ceo of a mobile company be a good humanitarian and still travel by private corporate jets?

    The Most important flaw to notice:
    How can a guy who is unable to remember anything beyond the 15’th minute remember to go through his photos?

    There are so many flaws I can enumerate and mind you only at the first watch. My advice would be to watch,Memento(the english version) and try finding flaws in that one.I tried, not one bit and yet a stunning piece of work.
    My advice to indian film-makers is to stop mimicking hollywood and be original.

    ////** the most important flaw****/////

    Last of all, an anterograde amnesiac never forgets events that have occurred prior to the head injury.
    An amnesiac is unable to put to memory new images in his sub-conscious but any triggering from external influences(like people’s faces, places visited) that have had an effect in the past ( before the head injury) ,pulls out the event from the memory stack.Hence, even after the injury Sanjay knows he’s the CEO of Air Voice,he even knows his MD who need not introduce himself with a pic.He also knows how ghajini looks like, his motives and actions since they had already met before the head injury, hence by virtue of knowing these traits he’s able to pull from the memory stack the event that led to the cause of kalpana’s death.

    In Memento, the brilliancy of the script is noted in the fact that out of all the characters whom the protagonist has met,he doesn’t know even one of them before the incident happened, although all of them claim to be his friends and use him for the fulfillment of their needs.

    Looks like our directors need to do a little research before writing a script rather than copy, pasting American movies without knowing their hidden meaning.

    ///** The greatest flaw **///

    An Anterograde Amnesiac never forgets any of the incidents (neither the characters) that occurred before the head injury was incurred upon him.

    Think of all the flaws made by the director in this one statement.
